Radisson Collection Hotel, Palazzo Nani Venice has opened in a historic building following a sensitive 22-month renovation project led by Studio Marco Piva.

The premium lifestyle brand’s latest outpost occupies a beautiful heritage property.

A historic conversion

The new Radisson Collection Hotel, Palazzo Nani Venice is located beside the Cannaregio Canal in the northern part of Venice. It sits within the 16th-century Palazzo Nani, once the residence of the influential Nani family.

Studio Marco Piva led the 22-month renovation of this building, with approval from the Fine Arts Heritage Committee, to create a spectacular five-star Radisson Collection hotel.

This restoration work involved preserving the original decorative and architectural elements of the façade and interiors, including stuccos and paintings on the walls and ceilings. During excavation, Roman flooring was discovered, and duly registered by the Fine Arts and Heritage Protection Authorities.

An appealing setting

The hotel is home to 52 guestrooms, each offering views over the city streets, courtyard or canal. It features a serene colour palette, soft fabrics and the frescoes of Italian sculptor Alessandro Vittoria, who remodelled the palazzo in the 1680s.

Amenities within the property include a meeting room and event space hosting up to 80 delegates, and the Zoja Wine Bar & Terrace, named after a noble family who once lived here. This venue serves Venetian food alongside wine and cocktails.

With its position in the Cannaregio district, the hotel is close to many restaurants and bars, with a Vaporetto stop just outside the hotel, providing easy access to the rest of the city.

“We’re thrilled to establish our presence in this iconic city with our premium lifestyle brand Radisson Collection, which includes emblematic properties in unique locations with exceptional style and service,” said Chema Basterrechea, president EMEA at Radisson Hotel Group. “Following the successful opening of Radisson Collection Hotel, Palazzo Touring Club Milan in August, we now have four Radisson Collection hotels in operation in Italy and continue to expand in the country.”
