Valor Hospitality Partners has expanded its management portfolio with the addition of a 240-room hotel in the Scottish capital – its first Courtyard by Marriott-branded scheme.

The high-profile hospitality specialist is continuing to grow at pace.

A milestone signing

Courtyard by Marriott Edinburgh has become the first property in Scotland’s most-visited city to join Valor Hospitality Partners’ management portfolio.

The company’s UK presence more than doubled in 2021, with as many as 17 IHG hotels brought under its management. More recently, its portfolio was bolstered by the arrival of two new luxury properties, which are currently under development, in St Andrews, Scotland and Dunluce, Northern Ireland.

Brian McCarthy, managing director of UK and Europe at Valor Hospitality, said: “We continue to grow here in the UK, with close to 40 hotels now operating under our leadership, and we are delighted to be given this opportunity to expand into Edinburgh. We have aspirations to continue to grow and fully develop our business, which is founded on creating exceptional levels of employee engagement, delivering commercial excellence and maximising returns for the partners who choose and trust us to work on their behalf.”

Entering the Scottish capital

Courtyard by Marriott Edinburgh is located in the heart of the city. The four-star property contains 240 guestrooms, as well as public areas pairing Scottish heritage and style with innovative design.

Euan McGlashan, global co-founder and CEO of Valor Hospitality, said: “Hailing from Edinburgh personally, the city holds a special place in my heart. This, in addition to our partnership with renowned chef Roy Brett and his Ondine Restaurant, means we are bringing our own very special brand of hospitality to this incredible city.”

Significantly, it’s the first Courtyard by Marriott-branded hotel to sit within Valor Hospitality’s management portfolio. However, the company has plenty of experience with Marriott International, not least after having launched the first two AC Hotels schemes in the UK in 2016.

With this new addition, Valor Hospitality now manages 85 hotels across the world. The global full-service hotel acquisition, development, management and asset management company’s varied portfolio spans major groups such as IHG, Marriott and Hilton Worldwide alongside independent luxury brands.
