With the help of Gensler, Hyatt Regency Morristown in New Jersey has completed a multimillion-dollar renovation that involved transforming its public and private spaces.

This established hotel in downtown Morristown, New Jersey is showcasing the results of a radical makeover.

Locally inspired design

Hyatt Regency Morristown is conveniently located within the town’s Headquarters Plaza mixed-use development, which is owned by the Olnick Organization and Fisher Development Associates. The upper-upscale hotel’s transformation, courtesy of Gensler – Morristown, spanned the property’s guestrooms, lobby, F&B venues and meeting spaces.

“We are thrilled to announce the completion of an extensive renovation project at our downtown hotel,” said Jeff Babcock, general manager of Hyatt Regency Morristown. “The renovation was thoughtfully designed by Gensler, our neighbours here in downtown Morristown, to incorporate the unique and rich history of our local area.

“The newly renovated property features a modern colonial theme, which can be observed throughout all aspects of the property. We can’t wait to introduce the reimagined Hyatt Regency Morristown experience to both travellers and the local community.”

New and refreshed facilities

On entry to Hyatt Regency‘s stylish outpost, guests will find themselves in a redesigned lobby that incorporates reminders of Morristown’s unique history and is distinguished by Mediterranean-inspired trees, a dramatic fireplace fixture, modern furnishings and lush greenery. The use of blue, moreover, references the colour of officer’s uniforms in the American Revolution.

The reimagined dining experience spans an updated lounge with 30 ft windows providing views of downtown, a new grab-and-go food market and café, and a reoriented bar with updated seating and lighting.

The hallways now feature carpets that draw inspiration from the topography of New Jersey farmlands, and each guestroom has been updated with double rooms converted to queen rooms with two queen beds and king bedrooms equipped with modern glass showers. In addition, rooms have been fitted with open-concept closets, and studio suites have impressive seating areas.

Updates have also been made to the hotel’s 31,000 sq ft of event space, which includes meeting rooms and the Terrace and Plaza Ballrooms. The property’s former restaurant has been converted into a new meeting venue and a new outdoor venue will launch in April 2022.

Guests staying at the hotel have easy access to abundant restaurants, retail and entertainment venues, and benefit from complimentary access to the adjacent Crunch Fitness complex.
