Boasting graceful curves and sleek architectural design, the 173-room luxury boutique hotel is on track to open in the summer of 2020.

An elegant new hotel boasting an upscale restaurant, well-equipped fitness studio, and flexible meeting and event space is coming soon to the campus of the University of Florida. We find out more.

Raising the bar for on-campus accommodation

It’s not often you hear of architecturally splendid hotels cropping up on a university campus, but perhaps nothing is surprising anymore after the first half of 2020. One of the most exciting hospitality projects in the US right now is a stunningly designed property at the University of Florida in Gainesville.

Hotel ELEO is a sweeping development spread over six storeys, laid out in a curving line that takes full advantage of its site overlooking Rush Lake. Executed in steel, glass and concrete, it’s an exercise in sophistication and contemporary chic, and will no doubt be an immediate hit on campus.

“We are proud to offer an oasis for visitors to the Gainesville area,” said Rich Richardson, general manager for Pyramid Hotel Group, the company that is managing Hotel ELEO. “Our hotel team is thrilled to be part of the Gainesville community and we look forward to welcoming guests and neighbours to the hotel.”

Custom furnishings and an upscale restaurant at Hotel ELEO

This luxury boutique hotel will serve both the university and the immediate surrounding area. Each of its 173 guest rooms will be decked out in custom furnishings from Italy and sumptuous bed linen.

There will be over 1,000 sq ft of flexible meeting space, as well as a 24-hour gym and fitness centre, which could well prove to be one of the hotel’s highlights. It focuses on resistance, weights, cardio and strength training, keeping guests fit on the go. Some of the amenities guests can avail themselves of are Peloton stationary bikes with complimentary online cycling classes, a TRX Training Zone and TechnoGym Skillmill treadmills.

As far as entertainment goes, the hotel can count upscale restaurant Covey Kitchen + Cocktails among its F&B options, offering Floridian comfort food allied to sophisticated flair, alongside signature cocktails and craft beer. There will also be an outdoor terrace overlooking the lake where guests can relax and enjoy a drink or two in style.
