Hotel projects across the estate are rejuvenating spaces aligned with guests’ evolving needs, providing flexible spaces for co-working, collaboration and socialising. Each refurbishment project will incorporate energy-saving features and are due to be seamlessly delivered as the hotels continue to operate.
Holiday Inn renewal
Much of the programme centres on sites Kew Green operates for IHG Hotels & Resorts’ Holiday Inn brand.
The Open Lobby concept is an integral part of IHG’s reinvigoration of the brand. It’s based on giving guests the flexibility to eat, relax, work or have fun in one space.
Lobby list
The projects will transform the traditional hotel lobby format by combining all public spaces, from the reception area, to the restaurant, bar and lounge into one open, cohesive space. The Open Lobby is intended to bring a colourful and refreshing design to give the space a contemporary feel.
UK properties due to receive an Open Lobby upgrade throughout this year include: Holiday Inn Reading, Holiday Inn Rochester, Holiday Inn Leeds Wakefield, Holiday Inn Lincoln and Holiday Inn Derby Nottingham.
Additional overhauls
Kew Green has further refurbishments in the pipeline too. Refreshed bedrooms are due for Holiday Inn Ipswich Orwell, Holiday Inn Birmingham M6 J7 and Holiday Inn Bromsgrove . While Holiday Inn Derby Nottingham will have its event space overhauled.
For the operator’s Marriott International-branded sites, Courtyard by Marriott London Gatwick Airport will soon be undergoing refurbishment for its restaurant, bar, public areas and bedrooms.
