Gekko House marks Tribute Portfolio’s second foray into the German hospitality market.

Tribute Portfolio is making its inaugural splash in Frankfurt with the stylish and contemporary Gekko House.

Located in one of the city’s most vibrant neighbourhoods, the hotel boasts an industrial aesthetic that is right in tune with the area’s heritage.

We find out more.

Tribute Portfolio doubles German portfolio

Marriott’s soft brand the Tribute Portfolio has doubled its stock of German hotels by adding a new property in Frankfurt. Gekko House, in the Gallus neighbourhood of Frankfurt, will join its Hamburg outpost, the Hotel Nordport Plaza, to become Germany’s second Tribute Portfolio property.

This 128-key hotel will appeal to discerning leisure and business travellers who value style, design savvy and a contemporary lifestyle hotel experience.

The hotel’s motto is “Life is crazy”, and the hotel’s spirit reflects this, in the sense that it provides guests with an urban oasis to retreat to, but also allows them the opportunity to let loose if they so wish.

Industrial chic by design

This Frankfurt outpost of Tribute Portfolio’s collection of impeccably designed and carefully executed properties is located in the Gallus neighbourhood of the city, known for its proliferation of warehouses and industry, and one of the trendiest places to be in Frankfurt right now.

Designed by local firm Morgen Interiors, the concept of the hotel’s internal spaces was one of industrial chic, channelling an urban aesthetic that is synonymous with hip hotels across the globe.

Exposed concrete walls contrast with wooden flooring, which adds warmth to the guest rooms, and the furniture and fixtures provide moments of decadence, from the plush velvet seating to the mouth-blown glass lamps.

Features and amenities

Music lovers will feel right at home in Gekko House’s guest rooms, where they can blast tunes from a Marshall Music Box.

Coffee connoisseurs will get their fix from the in-room Nespresso machines and the ground floor Gekko Späti boasts a carefully curated selection of lifestyle items available for purchase.

The summer highlight of the hotel will inevitably be the Chicago Beach Rooftop bar, which provides unparalleled views of Frankfurt. Guests can also indulge in a gastronomic feast at the Chicago Williams BBQ restaurant on site, all washed down with local German craft beer.
