Key people from Shanghai’s hotel industry will meet at the TOPHOTELWORLDTOUR to networking and exchange.

TOPHOTELPROJECTS’ boutique networking event will bring together the biggest names of the regional hotel industry at the Andaz Xintiandi Shanghai on December 5th.

2019 will come to a close with the final TOPHOTELWORLDTOUR event of the year, returning to Shanghai on December 5th. The event will be held at the swanky Andaz Xintiandi Shanghai. We take a look inside the event to see what’s in store for delegates.

First time in Shanghai

2019 has been a huge year for TOPHOTELPROJECTS and their now-famous TOPHOTELWORLDTOUR series of boutique networking events. Industry professionals from all corners of the globe gathered in an array of diverse regions over the previous quarters to network, learn and engage, and what a year it was.

To wrap up this immensely successful year, 2019’s final TOPHOTELWORLDTOUR event will be held in Shanghai on December 5th, and no doubt the attendees will enjoy the final event of the year in the Andaz Xintiandi Shanghai hotel.

Speakers and schedule

As with every TOPHOTELWORLDTOUR event, there will be a healthy dose of networking opportunities, with the eight “Change Table” sessions peppered throughout the morning and afternoon, designed to allow every delegate to meet every other attendee.

There will be four keynote presentations around the topics of trends in the economy and innovation.

TOPHOTELPROJECTS CEO and Founder Rolf W. Schmidt will address the audience on the status of the Chinese market in terms of hotel development, the country’s pipeline and who the biggest players in the industry are at the moment.

A panel discussion on the culture clash happening in Shanghai will explore how this most European of Chinese cities is grappling with the shift from more traditional hotels to contemporary models.

The list of confirmed speakers at TOPHOTELWORLDTOUR Shanghai so far include Gina Wo from ONYX Hospitality Group, Kelvin Ip from Horwath HTL and Kimberly Brown of Kimberly Brown Architects.

Creative Spark

In Shanghai, three amazing creations will compete for the Creative Spark prize. Creative Spark is a competition between three architects/interior designers where delegates act as judges. Candidates present their projects and further discuss their work as part of a panel discussion. It’s the perfect opportunity for delegates to catch up on the latest hotel projects and hospitality design trends in general.

In Shanghai, the three Creative Spark finalists are Chang Yi at Fairmont Chengdu, the Conrad Hotel in Shenyang and the Intercontinental Shanghai Wonderland.

You’ll have to attend the conference to find out who wins!
