The city of love welcomes 30 new hotels

According to the TOPHOTELCONSTRUCTION database, high-end and upscale hotels are sweeping the board in Paris.

The French capital gears up for a busy few years, according to figures from the TOPHOTELPROJECTS database. We check out the top brands and projects that are destined for Paris, as well as running through some of the most important numbers for the city’s hospitality industry.

High-end hotels in Paris

Paris has always been known as one of the most sophisticated destinations in the world, so it is perhaps no surprise that, as 2019 comes to a close, the majority of the hotels in the French capital’s pipeline are at the upper end of the hospitality sector.

Out of the proposed 30 properties that are going to open in the city in the coming years, 12 will be 4-star hotels and 17 will be 5-star, with only one mid-range 3-star hotel to open in the near future. There is a fairly even spread among a diverse array of brands that cover every segment of the hotel industry.

Upscale lifestyle brand Mama Shelter will have two new properties in Paris, with luxury lifestyle brand Pestana Hotels boasting one new property. They are followed by reliable international brands such as Novotel, InterContinental Hotels Group and Marriott, each of which will open one hotel in Paris in the coming years. 2020 will be a big year for openings in the city, with 10 properties welcoming guests over the course of the next 12 months. Currently, 11 properties are under construction, nine are in the planning stages, five are in the pre-opening phase and five are in the pre-planning stage.
