We deep dive into the Autograph Collection, one of the world’s most important soft brands, by checking out the figures and stats of their pipeline and development chain, pulled from the TOPHOTELCONTRUCTION database.
Autograph bets on the US
Numbers drawn from the extensive TOPHOTELPROJECTS database show that the Autograph Collection, a five star brand under the Marriott umbrella, is taking big strides in North America. The Collection has a total of 43 projects in the pipeline which will add a further 8,751 rooms to the brand’s portfolio.
The majority of the Collection’s new output will be located in North America (29 projects), heavily concentrated in one of the region’s most reliable markets, the United States (21 projects). Europe is another fertile market for the Autograph Collection, and there are 11 projects in the European pipeline to be located in Germany (5) and Poland (2). The Collection has big plans for the inaugural year of the new decade, with an incredible 30 properties due to welcome guests in 2020 alone. This timeline is likely to be hit, as there are currently 22 Autograph Collection hotels under construction.
Notable projects
Punta Cana, the capital of the Dominican Republic, will see the largest Autograph Collection resort come to fruition in 2022. The Autograph Collection Punta Cana will be a luxury 5-star new build hotel and resort boasting an incredible 650 rooms in one of the most coveted destinations in the Caribbean. It will welcome guests at the beginning of 2022.
In Europe, the Hotelprojekt Tegernsee will be located in southern Germany, on the shores of the pristine Tegernsee lake close to the Austrian border. This luxury 5-star new build hotel and residences will offer guests their choice of 126 beautifully executed rooms and suites, and will be located on the site of a former hospital, with breathtaking views out over the lake and mountains beyond. The hotel is due to open in the third quarter of 2022.
The Luminary Hotel & Co. is currently under construction in Fort Myers, Florida, with an opening date set for the third quarter of 2020. The 243-key hotel, a 5-star luxury new build property, will be located on a riverfront next to the Fort Myers’ Harborside Event Center, and will provide accommodation for business travelers coming to the area.
Finally, the Grand Bohemian Hotel Charlotte is set to open at the beginning of this year, and will be a luxurious offering located in Charlotte, North Carolina. Appealing to both business and leisure travelers, this iconic hotel is sure to become a landmark property in the city, and will offer guests a choice of 254 rooms and suites designed in an elegant style. The hotel boasts full conference, meeting and events facilities, as well as a host of gourmet dining options, as well as a luxurious spa and outdoor pool deck.
