THE MANDRAKE HOTEL – Fitzrovia, Central London
The Mandrake Hotel in London, designed by Tala Fustok and the firm Culture In Architecture, is a prime example of what a magical transformation can be like. Before becoming a luxury hotel, this building used to house a TV production company. The Mandrake takes guests away from the concrete surrounding spaces of London into an oasis, fully covered with green cascading plants and even trees inside the property to make the hotel a symbol of mystery and discovery at every corner. The experience simulates a journey through dark tunnels that goes from the street to the hotel lobby that subtly manipulates guests’ senses with fragrances, ambient soundtracks and special lighting.
1 HOTEL BROOKLYN BRIDGE PARK – New York
The stunning 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge Park depicts the hardworking shipping roots of the city of New York. This explains the significant use of ropes and aged wood that reinforce Brooklyn’s proud local identity. The hotel, designed by INC Architecture & Design, is located in the midst of green spaces with panoramic vistas. The property’s design thus pays homage to nature at every corner.
HOTEL SANDERS – Copenhagen
The style of Hotel Sanders, designed by Lind + Almond, is highlighted by the presence of plants in its interiors creating a casual, laid-back setting. One of the first boutique luxury hotels of the city, the property uses wooden materials and a tranquil palette that in combination with walled gardens invites guests to relax and forget about the pace of everyday life.
