TOPHOTELCONSTRUCTION brand focus: Moxy Hotels aiming high

Moxy’s pipeline grows and shows ambitious projects for the years ahead.

TOPHOTELPROJECTS database shows 68 new projects will bring an additional 4,118 rooms to Moxy’s portfolio by 2024 and beyond.

We deep dive into the world of Moxy Hotels, one of the most successful lifestyle hotel brands, by checking out the figures and stats of their pipeline and development chain, pulled from the TOPHOTELCONTRUCTION database.

Moxy shows no signs of slowing down

Given the numbers nestled within the TOPHOTELCONSTRUCTION database, it seems to be a certainty that the next few years will continue to be busy ones for Moxy Hotels, one of the world’s leading lifestyle brands. Figures pulled from the database show a particularly healthy pipeline, with 68 projects which will bring an additional 4,118 rooms to Moxy’s portfolio planned to open between now and 2024 and beyond.

This year alone, Moxy will have opened nine properties, with 2020 looking to more than double that, with 22 new openings. 2021 will follow closely behind with 19 new Moxy hotels welcoming guests, while the remaining 18 properties will be open by 2024. The majority of projects in the pipeline are currently in the construction phase, setting the brand on course to meet its deadlines in the coming years.

Notable upcoming Moxy projects

The Moxy Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport is the largest project in the pipeline, boasting 292 rooms within the Charles De Gaulle Airport complex. The hotel opened last month, and is a new-build hotel that will provide convenient accommodation for those traveling in and out of Paris’ international airport.

The Moxy Edinburgh Fountainbridge, meanwhile, is a conversion currently in progress and set to open in the third quarter of 2020. The former Fountain Brewery is part of the Fountainbridge site, which is undergoing redevelopment to become New Fountainbridge, and the brewery is being converted into a 262-key Moxy property, which will front onto a newly created civic space designed to regenerate the area. Given the hotel’s location beside Edinburgh’s financial district, it will appeal to both business and leisure travelers alike.

The Moxy Montevrain is a new-build project beside the Disneyland Paris adventure park, and will provide 233 additional rooms to the area, which sees visitors and families from all over the world come to enjoy the famous amusements. The hotel will be located inside an eco village, which will boast sustainable credentials and focus on promoting eco tourism.

Finally, the Moxy Düsseldorf City Center is a 241-key hotel located in the heart of Düsseldorf. Due to open at the beginning of 2021, this project is part new-build, part conversion, and will provide sought after accommodation that will appeal to travelers on a city break, in town for business or on a longer holiday in the area.
