Top 3 project announcements in December

Our THP research team were busy elves over the festive season, entering over 160 project records into the database in December.

We take a look at three of the leading additions you can now view within the portal.

Sirius Hotel

Hungarian group, Adventor Hotels, is constructing a new hotel on the site of the old Hotel Via, on the shores of Lake Balaton in Keszthely. The 25,552 sq m estate will see a building with a floor area of 11,000 sq m taking shape, surrounded by 14,500 sq m grounds.

Sirius Hotel will feature 127 double rooms, an a la carte restaurant, lobby bar and show kitchen restaurant with a panoramic view of the lake. It will also be able to host events, with sectional conference rooms and a special cognac room.

The property will have a strong wellness theme, containing nine spa areas with different pools, more than 10 sauna attractions, a hammam and a ladies spa. Completion is scheduled for Q2 2023.

Bally’s Chicago Casino Hotel

Bally’s Corporation has received planning permission from Chicago’s City Council for the construction of Bally’s Chicago Casino – a $1.7 billion flagship entertainment destination which includes a 500-room hotel.

As well as the hotel tower with a rooftop bar, the first phase of the project will include a 1 million sq ft casino building, a 3,000-person event space, dozens of infrastructure improvements in the surrounding area, and a significant amount of public open space.

The complex is due to open in the major US city in 2026.

Nihi Santo Tomas

Indonesian-headquartered Nihi Hotels is heading outside its home nation for the first time with Nihi Santo Tomas in Costa Rica. The resort will be located on a 1,000 hectare site in Santo Tomas and is due for completion in 2025.

Accommodation will entail 32 keys, comprising nine master suites, five one-bedroom apartments, 10 one-bedroom treehouses, six two bedroom apartments and two two-bedroom treehouses.

Facilities will include a restaurant, a beach club, two polo fields, stables, a spa safari, a boathouse, an organic garden and a chocolate factory.
