TOPHOTELNEWS takes a look at the most notable hotel additions this month, encompassing everything from brand firsts to tower treats in global locations.

It has been a busy few weeks for new hotels, so while picking out just a notable few for closer inspection was a difficult decision, the trio we have profiled shows that innovation is continuing worldwide.

Conrad Hotel Nashville

First up, at the beginning of the month Hilton cut the ribbon on the much anticipated Conrad Hotel Nashville. The 234-key tower marks Conrad Hotels & Resorts’ brand debut in the USA’s Music City.

With Cooper Carry as the architect, the hotel houses 24 elegant suites, five wellness rooms, an expansive fitness centre, three curated dining experiences conceptualised by restaurant development company Blau & Associates, a chic poolside retreat and 17,000 sq ft of stylish meeting and event space.

Interior design by Champalimaud Design fuses Tennessee inspirations with modern touches, such as the double-height lobby anchored by a spiral staircase complete with a satin-finished brass balustrade inspired by musical instruments.

Matthew Schuyler, chief brand officer, Hilton, said: “Conrad Nashville jumpstarts Hilton’s energised commitment to the destination, with multiple properties and brands in the portfolio opening through 2024.”

Sindhorn Midtown Hotel Bangkok

Sindhorn Midtown Hotel Bangkok is another ‘first’, this time being IHG Hotels & Resorts’ luxury and lifestyle brand Vignette’s Asian debut. The hotel group teamed up with property developer Siam Sindhorn Co Ltd to bring this 393-room site to life.

Designed by Eight Inc to showcase contemporary design, laidback elegance and striking local art, all rooms feature large format bathroom amenities from Karl Lagerfeld and modern comforts such as Fritz Hansen’s iconic Drop chairs. The Fitness Centre offers panoramic city views, as does the Horizon Pool, which is located on the 18th floor. A minimalist lobby space was enhanced by local design studio, P49 Deesign utilising the story of the Bangkok Tram to create a cherished sense of place.

Three new eclectic dining offerings comprise The Black Cat atmospheric Thai Liquor bar, Bangkok’78, which presents the city’s greatest culinary hits in a retro-inspired concept, whilst Sip & Co. is a chic addition to Langsuan’s flourishing café culture.

Asher & Roost Apartment Hotel

Also this month, the first Florida location of high-design extended stay concept Roost Apartment Hotel joined the new Water Street Tampa development. Roost Tampa, which bridges a boutique hotel with apartment-style living, marks the Roost brand’s fifth location, and largest to date, boasting 97 studio, one and two-bedroom and co-living units across six floors in Asher, a new residential tower designed by Morris Adjmi Architects.

The property premieres the brand’s first co-living units, which allows Roost guests to experience a communal living environment. The four- and eight-bedroom units feature a shared common area with a living room, full-sized kitchen and washer-dryer. Both co-living units offer a spacious communal balcony with a large dining table, while select rooms boast a private balcony and/or private bathroom. Each co-living unit can be rented by individual room or as a cohesive four- or eight-bedroom suite for larger groups.

A 30,000 sq ft amenity floor features Water Street Tampa’s largest rooftop pool deck with cabanas, outdoor kitchens, an indoor-outdoor bar and an entertainment lawn, as well as an indoor media lounge, entertainment lounge, state-of-the-art fitness centre with indoor and outdoor spaces, and co-working lounge with private conference rooms.

The brand will continue to expand in the US later this year with the opening of sites in Detroit, Baltimore and Charleston.
