Minor Hotels’ Tivoli Hotels & Resorts brand is to refresh a flagship site in the Algarve region of Portugal.

Located in Vilamoura, directly on the beach next to the marina and overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Tivoli Marina Vilamoura is having a major renovation of its interior and exterior spaces.

Full refresh

The resort will completely update all its 383 rooms, which will be decorated in soft tones and natural materials, inspired by the sand and the light on hot days, with striped fabrics giving a nod to the sails of the boats in the marina.

The lobby, the Argo Cocktail Bar, the breakfast restaurant and the entire outdoor pool and garden area will also be redesigned.

Local inspiration

The new design will take its inspiration from the beaches and sea of the Algarve to offer a more contemporary and sophisticated feel.

Director of the resort, Hugo Gonçalves, said: “We are looking forward to offering our guests a refreshed experience with many new features when the resort reopens on 1 February next year. This is one of the most iconic hotels in Vilamoura and the Algarve, with 35 years of history, which is characterised by its unique location and the versatility of its different spaces.”

Spanish counterpart

Meanwhile, the group is simultaneously overhauling Tivoli La Caleta Resort in Spain’s Canary Islands. The luxury property, located in Tenerife’s Costa Adeje, previously operated under the Sheraton brand, and is now scheduled to relaunch under the Tivoli brand in Q2 2023.

The resort will reopen with 284 guestrooms, including suites, four restaurants, two bars and 10 meeting rooms, as well as three swimming pools, a fitness centre, plus tennis and paddle tennis courts. The property will also be home to an Anantara Spa.
