Kempinski Hotels has announced the appointment of Timur Sentuerk as chief operating officer for the group in EMEA.

Sentuerk will draw on 30 years of experience in delivering operational and financial performance to oversee a fast-growing region for Kempinski Hotels.

Looking forward

As chief operating officer in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, as well as a member of the management board, Timur Sentuerk will be responsible for overseeing what’s now a fast-growing region of strategic significance for Kempinski Hotels.

Sentuerk brings 30 years of experience in delivering operational and financial performance to his new position. A proven hospitality leader, Sentuerk has worked with hospitality brands including Langham Hospitality Group, Pan Pacific Hotels Group, Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, Oberoi Hotels & Resorts and Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group

“Throughout his career, Timur Sentuerk has amassed great operational and corporate leadership experience and possesses a strong understanding of the global luxury hospitality operations and stakeholder relationships driven by his tremendous passion for people,” said Bernold Schroeder, chief executive officer of Kempinski Group and chairman of the management board of Kempinski AG.

Proven expertise

Sentuerk joins Kempinski Hotels from the role of chief people officer at the private equity funded start-up, Pure Data Centres, in London where he was responsible for driving consistency and excellence in service delivery, operations and internal management.

Throughout his career he has gained diverse experience across a range of companies within the industry, from start-up, privately owned and joint ventures to publicly listed companies and state-owned enterprises.

This experience in business development, operational excellence and asset management, while working within Asia Pacific, the Middle East, the USA and Europe, affords Sentuerk the skills to promote growth and lead hotels to peak performance.
