Thompson Hotels to enter Spain with Madrid opening

Thompson Madrid, which is scheduled to open its doors in mid-2022, will further strengthen Hyatt Hotels Corporation’s luxury and lifestyle portfolio in continental Europe.

Signifying Thompson Hotels’ entry to Spain, this milestone opening will give the brand a foothold in one of Europe’s biggest cities.

A new addition to Madrid’s hospitality scene

Hyatt Hotels Corporation has signed a deal with Exacorp One to open Spain’s first Thompson Hotels-branded scheme, the 175-key Thompson Madrid, which is expected to make its debut in mid-2022. Located in the centre of the city’s Golden Mile, this lifestyle hotel will appeal to both business and leisure travellers alike.

“We are honoured to work with Exacorp One to welcome the Thompson Hotels brand to Spain, a sought-after market of today’s leisure travellers,” said Peter Norman, senior vice president development EAME & SWA at Hyatt. “Thompson Madrid will become a remarkable property in the heart of the city, where culture is celebrated and everyone who walks through the doors feels more like a resident than a guest.

“These plans for Thompson Madrid come at a time of significant growth for the Thompson Hotels brand, largely fuelled by leisure travel demand, offering a luxurious, evocative collection of boutique hotels, synonymous with highly distinct services and experiences that cater to the high-end traveller.”

A reflection of its locale

This new property will reflect Thompson Hotels’ focus on fashion, art and entertainment by introducing travellers to Madrid’s culture through architecture, design and the overall guest experience.

Each of the hotel’s 175 guestrooms, including 23 suites, will be designed according to the brand’s modern luxury aesthetic, with balconies and terraces providing city views and touches of fashion-forward art. A spectacular two-storey penthouse with panoramic vistas is also being promised.

Thompson Madrid intends to attract guests and locals into its three dining and drinking outlets, which include a signature rooftop terrace with a bar and restaurant, and a speakeasy-style venue. Interestingly, the entire culinary offering will be managed by Grupo La Ancha.

Thompson Madrid, which will also feature a fitness centre and event space, is to join Hyatt Centric Gran Via Madrid and Hyatt Regency Hesperia Madrid as the third Hyatt Hotels Corporation-branded hotel in the city.

El Thompson Madrid, que tiene previsto abrir sus puertas a mediados de 2022, reforzará aún más el pportfolio de lujo y estilo de vida de Hyatt Hotels Corporation en Europa continental.

Esta apertura, que supone la entrada de Thompson Hotels en España, dará a la marca un punto de apoyo en una de las mayores ciudades de Europa.

Una nueva incorporación a la escena hotelera de Madrid

Hyatt Hotels Corporation firmó un acuerdo con Exacorp One para abrir el primer hotel de la marca Thompson Hotels en España, el Thompson Madrid de 175 habitaciones, que se espera que haga su debut a mediados de 2022. Situado en el centro de la Milla de Oro de la ciudad, este hotel de estilo de vida atraerá tanto a viajeros de negocios como de placer.

Thompson Madrid se convertirá en una propiedad extraordinaria en el corazón de la ciudad, donde se celebre la cultura y todo el que atraviese las puertas se sienta más como un residente que como un huésped».

«El proyecto del Thompson Madrid llega en un momento de importante crecimiento para la marca Thompson Hotels, impulsada en gran medida por la demanda de viajes de ocio, con oferta de una lujosa y evocadora colección de hoteles boutique, sinónimo de servicios y experiencias muy diferenciadas que atienden al viajero de alta gama».

Un reflejo de su ubicación

Esta nueva propiedad reflejará el enfoque de Thompson Hotels en la moda, el arte y el entretenimiento, introduciendo a los viajeros en la cultura de Madrid a través de la arquitectura, el diseño y la experiencia general de los huéspedes.

Cada una de las 175 habitaciones del hotel, incluidas 23 suites, estará diseñada según la estética de lujo moderno de la marca, con balcones y terrazas que ofrecen vistas a la ciudad y toques de arte vanguardista. También se promete un espectacular ático de dos plantas con vistas panorámicas.

Thompson Madrid pretende atraer a huéspedes y lugareños a sus tres puntos gastronómicos, que incluyen una terraza en la azotea con un bar y un restaurante, y un salón privado. Curiosamente, toda la oferta culinaria será gestionada por el Grupo La Ancha.

Thompson Madrid, que también contará con un centro de fitness y espacio para eventos, se unirá a Hyatt Centric Gran Vía Madrid y Hyatt Regency Hesperia Madrid como el tercer hotel de la marca Hyatt Hotels Corporation en la ciudad.
