Calgary’s newest boutique property, The Westley Hotel, has opened in the downtown Eau Claire neighbourhood following the transformation of an existing five-storey property by Frank.

As well as offering 104 guestrooms, The Westley Hotel also features Fonda Fora, a contemporary ground-floor Mexican restaurant concept by Thank You Hospitality.

A new arrival in Calgary

Aimed at both leisure and business travellers, the hotel is open just in time for summer travel and the Calgary Stampede.

“This is an exciting day for our industry,” said Ian L Jones, general manager of The Westley Hotel. “What better way to signal the return and rebuild of hospitality and tourism in Calgary. Alongside the talented Fonda Fora team, we are thrilled to finally welcome guests and deliver exceptional experiences.”

“This is a proud moment for our team as we introduce Calgary to our latest concept and celebrate more of the diverse culinary traditions of Mexico,” added Cody Willis, founder of Thank You Hospitality. “A great atmosphere is equally as important as the high-quality food and drinks we serve. Thanks to our strong partnership and connection with The Westley Hotel, we’re able to deliver just that.”

Inspired design and exciting cuisine

The five-storey hotel takes over a former office building, which has been reimagined by Calgary-based design firm Frank. A modern yet vintage aesthetic runs throughout the hotel’s 104 guestrooms, paying tribute to the site’s ‘70s heritage.

The Westley Hotel’s vibrant lobby lounge leads into Thank You Hospitality’s Fonda Fora restaurant concept, which comprises a lively dining room and open kitchen. Here, guests can dine on the Mexican culinary creations of Yucatán-raised chef Rafael Castillo.
