Rising 18 storeys high, the landmark Westin Tempe hotel development in Arizona is nearing completion ahead of its expected debut in August 2021.

This 290-key property, which fuses local culture with elements of biophilic design and wellness, is set to be the city of Tempe’s largest hotel opening in almost four decades.

A reflection of the city

The Westin Tempe is centrally located within the city’s downtown district. It’ll feature 290 spacious rooms and suites aimed at modern wellness-focused travellers, complemented by abundant amenities.

The property is being developed, and is owned, by CAI Investments, while Crescent Hotels & Resorts is managing. Longtime Arizona hospitality leaders Patti Hunt and Ryan Kirby have been named general manager and director of sales and marketing respectively.

“We are thrilled to be part of the city of Tempe’s growth and expansion over the last several years,” said Patti Hunt. “Our brand-new hotel will fill a niche in the market for travellers who are looking not only for an elevated experience, but a premium wellness hotel brand that will empower them to control and enhance their wellbeing while travelling.

“With The Westin Tempe’s gorgeous biophilic design, numerous dining destinations including the highest rooftop bar in the Valley, first-class meeting and event spaces, and direct access to all that downtown Tempe has to offer, we look forward to being the optimal retreat for leisure guests and business professionals alike.”

Gastronomy and wellness

The Westin Tempe will be home to three dining concepts: the ground-floor restaurant Terra Tempe Kitchen & Spirits, offering a contemporary take on Southwestern cuisine; Skysill Rooftop Lounge, housing the Valley’s highest open-air rooftop bar and lounge on the 18th floor; and Cup of Joe Market Café, for relaxed bistro dining and grab-and-go options.

This culinary offering will be joined by around 21,000 sq ft of indoor and outdoor event space, among other services and amenities focused on wellness.

While staying here, guests will have easy access to a number of major freeways, the Valley Metro Rail and Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. In its prime position adjacent to Arizona State University, the hotel is also just moments away from popular shopping, dining, entertainment and tourism attractions.
