Featuring premium interiors by GA Design, The Ritz-Carlton’s newest outpost will occupy the 62nd to 80th floors of a landmark tower in one of south-east China’s fastest growing cities.

Marriott International has signed an agreement with Ningbo Central Plaza Construction and Development Co to introduce The Ritz-Carlton to Ningbo in Zhejiang province.

An elevated hospitality experience

The Ritz-Carlton, Ningbo, which is expected to open in 2025, looks set to elevate the standard of hospitality on offer in this dynamic city.

“We are pleased to announce the signing of The Ritz-Carlton, Ningbo,” said Gavin Yu, senior vice president of development in Greater China for Marriott International.

“This hotel will redefine the luxury hotel experience in the vibrant coastal city through The Ritz-Carlton brand’s refined style and legendary services. As a key urban hub along the southern tip of the Yangtze River Delta, Ningbo has demonstrated strong economic development and boasts solid potential for high-end business and leisure hotels.”

The Ritz-Carlton, Ningbo is being developed by Shanghai Construction Group Co, Shanshan Group Co and Greentown China Holdings. It’ll occupy levels 62 to 80 of the 409-metre Ningbo Central Plaza tower, which promises to become a new icon of the city’s skyline.

A design-led destination

SOM is designing Ningbo Central Plaza in partnership with Arcplus Institute of Shanghai Architectural Design & Research, Greentown Architecture Design and Shanghai Construction Design & Research Institute.

“The Ningbo Central Plaza aspires to be a high-end landmark for the city, combining hotel, offices, commercial and residential space with apartments and other offerings,” said Bao Xiaohua, president of Shanshan Group, shareholder of the Ningbo Central Plaza Construction and Development Co. “The Ritz-Carlton, Ningbo will be one of the highlights of Ningbo Central Plaza and we look forward to working with Marriott International to create a world-class luxury experience.”

GA Design will oversee the interiors of The Ritz-Carlton, Ningbo. The hotel will comprise 257 guestrooms and suites, along with a Club Lounge, lobby lounge, destination bar, all-day dining venue, Chinese restaurant, specialty restaurant and 1,700 sq m of banquet space.
