A preview of the stunning Lux Grand Baie Resort & Residences in Mauritius.

Lux Hotels and Resort’s newest hotel on the island of Mauritius will fly the flag for the brand.

Laid-back beachside living in a sophisticated setting is the name of the game in Lux Hotels and Resorts’ recently announced Lux Grand Baie Resort & Residences on the idyllic island of Mauritius.

We take a look inside this exciting new development for The Lux Collective.

Lux to open new resort and residences in Mauritius

A stunning new property which embodies the chilled and exotic vibe associated with getaways to paradise islands is set to welcome the public in the summer of 2021. The property will be
on the northern coast of Mauritius, at Grand Baie, and will consist of 86 luxurious suites, a three-bedroom private beachfront villa and 24 two-bedroom private residences.

The residences will be tucked away from the main resort, offering the utmost privacy and exclusivity to guests, who can reach the main hotel by a bridge connecting both parts of the property.

The new hotel’s website proclaims that the “LUX Grand Baie is a serene tropical hotel at the heart of Grand Baie, Mauritius, where sophisticated, laid-back beachside living is taken to new heights.”

Sumptuous interiors in a glorious setting

The Lux Grand Baie Resort & Residences is set to become part of The Lux Collective and will be positioned as Lux Hotels and Resorts’ flagship property, joining several existing hotels by the brand on the island of Mauritius.

Mauritius as a destination needs no introduction and has been a haunt of the rich, famous and glamorous for quite a while now. This Indian Ocean island is known for its pristine white beaches, lagoons and reefs, and holidaymakers flock to its shores to experience a slice of the good life.

The experience offered by the new Lux Grand Baie Resort & Residences, when it opens next year, will certainly deliver on that front, with interiors by renowned designer Kelly Hoppen sure to wow guests.

Features and amenities

The hotel will appeal to a wide range of travellers, from those seeking some serious rest and relaxation to those who want to focus on wellness in one of the most beautiful places on earth. The property’s highlights include infinity pools, beachside cabanas and an outdoor wellness space for yoga classes and exercise.

Perhaps the main event is an adults-only rooftop bar and terrace, which affords panoramic views out over the Indian Ocean. A DJ is on hand at night for those looking to dance into the wee hours, and for the morning after, the hotel’s Lux Me Wellbeing and Lux Me Fitness can kickstart the endorphins with a spa treatment or workout. Children are also catered for in the Kids Club, and teenagers can meet up in Studio 17.
