The Leinster opens as Dublin’s first hotel in the luxury lifestyle category

The Jean – Georges rooftop restaurant, a supper club and stylish accommodation set apart this hotel combining Parisian boutique style with Irish hospitality.

The Leinster is located just off Merrion Square, among the art galleries, design studios and museums at the heart of Georgian Dublin.

A new lifestyle hub

Making its debut this month, Dublin’s new destination hotel, The Leinster, is now welcoming guests into its 55 stylish rooms and suites, and public spaces including the Jean – Georges rooftop restaurant and The Collins Club. The latest addition to Dublin’s growing hospitality scene aims to become a go-to for both hotel guests and locals.

The hotel has been designed by Dublin’s ODAA, Henchion Reuter Architects and O’Donnell O’Neill Design to fuse classic architecture with Parisian boutique style, with bold patterns and tactile materials throughout. Art is a focus here, with more than 300 curated artworks by over 80 artists around the hotel, as it reflects Ireland’s contemporary art scene.

Melanie Nocher, General Manager of The Leinster, commented: “Today marks a first for Dublin as we officially open The Leinster, the city’s inaugural luxury lifestyle hotel. We are excited to welcome guests and friends to experience the city’s first luxury lifestyle hotel, home to beautifully designed accommodation and an eclectic art scene.”

“The Leinster will immerse guests in an authentic and exceptional Irish and cosmopolitan experience through the launch of the incredible Jean-Georges, developed by the acclaimed chef himself.”

Bryan Davern, Director of Hotels, said: “As a team, we are so excited to open The Leinster today. The hotel unveils a brand new, exciting offering to Dubin’s hospitality scene, adding vibrancy and intrigue to Merrion Square and inviting guests for the perfect city escape or dining experience at the acclaimed, and highly anticipated, Jean-Georges at The Leinster. We look forward to welcoming our guests and friends to a hotel like no other.”

A draw for hotel guests and locals

The hotel’s 55 rooms and suites bring bold colour, detailed cabinetry and velvets together, with botanical detail on the headboards and cherry red sofas, in space incorporating amenities including Brooks & Co toiletries, Dyson hair dryers and a hidden mini bar featuring Château La Coste wines and alcohol-free beers. Guests also have access to a boutique gym and thermal suite.

A highlight of the hotel is the rooftop restaurant, Jean-Georges at The Leinster, which marks the acclaimed chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s first foray into Ireland. Committed to sustainability, the chef sources ingredients from local Irish suppliers. The menu here combines Irish classics with fresh French and Southeast Asian flavours, offered alongside a curated selection of award-winning wines and cocktails.

A meticulously curated drinks list and small plates will also be offered at The Collins Club paying tribute to Georgian glam and featuring DJs and a live pianist. For both hotel and outside guests, the hotel is also home to The O’Dwyer event suite catering for private meetings and celebratory events for up to 100 people.

Commenting on the opening, Jean-Georges Vongerichten said: “I am thrilled to open Jean-Georges at The Leinster today. As my first restaurant in Ireland, I am incredibly excited to work alongside Head Chef Ross and his team, as well as develop further relationships with local suppliers to give guests a truly memorable dining experience. I look forward to many more visits to Dublin, and continuing my exploration of the city and further afield within Ireland.”
