The Beatrice provides a new social hub in Providence
by Lauren Jade Hill | 26 Oct 2021 | Design

Designed by ZDS Architecture & Interiors, The Beatrice has opened its doors to guests in Rhode Island’s state capital, complete with a Bellini restaurant by Ignazio Cipriani.
Rhode Island’s new boutique hotel combines chic design with an outstanding F&B programme.
A new gathering site
Paolino Properties has announced the successful opening of The Beatrice, a 47-room scheme occupying the 1887 Exchange Building in the historic district of downtown Providence, Rhode Island. This stylish property is the first boutique hotel to open in Providence in almost a decade.
“As a former mayor of this great city, I’ve been a champion of Providence for my entire career,” said Joseph R Paolino, Jr, managing partner of Paolino Properties. “It’s been my passion to create projects that enhance the city and welcome community members and travellers.
“The opening of The Beatrice marks a new chapter for our hospitality scene. This hotel is a celebration of our city’s best attributes: our vibrant arts community, our renowned restaurants, our rich history and our bright future.”
Joseph R Paolino, Jr’s mother Beatrice Temkin, who was a lifelong Rhode Island resident, community leader and philanthropist, is the namesake of the property, which showcases a design inspired by her distinctive sense of style.
Fusing history and modernity
Brought to life by ZDS Architecture & Interiors, The Beatrice combines history and modernity with contemporary design that pays tribute to the 19th-century building’s past.
The property houses 47 spacious guestrooms with a home-away-from-home feel, high ceilings and expansive windows providing views of the historic district. Visitors can look forward to seeing Dyson Supersonic hairdryers, fine Mascioni linens, Nespresso coffeemakers, BeeKind amenities, in-room Fit Kits and a selection of books and boardgames during their stay.
Moreover, its high-end eatery, Bellini Restaurant, was conceptualised by Ignazio Cipriani as the first Bellini location in New England, adding to the city’s thriving culinary scene with an ever-changing menu reinterpreting classic Italian dishes, wines and cocktails.
Ignazio Cipriani, founder and president of Bellini Providence, said: “Providence is our newly adopted city and a place where we immediately felt at home. Its rich heritage and creative flair make it the perfect location to expand our brand.
“Opening Bellini Providence is an opportunity for us to share our family’s thoughtfully reinvented recipes, time-honoured traditions and an inviting atmosphere to this incredible city. We hope it will be a place where friends gather, reconnect and enjoy.”
Topping the hotel, meanwhile, the rooftop Bellini Club provides memorable experiences for members and hotel guests alike, and offers a custom menu of craft cocktails, fine wines, beer and shareable plates.
