Marbella welcomes Anantara
Marbella, an upscale resort and beach destination on the southern coast of Spain, has long been associated with a glitzy and glamorous crowd.
Its stock is set to rise even further with a luxurious new hotel by Anantara Hotels, Resorts and Spas, the group’s debut offering in Spain.
Anantara Hotels is owned by Minor Hotels and is known for its collection of luxury properties in some of the most enviable and exotic destinations around the world, including the Maldives, Mauritius, Cambodia and Sri Lanka.
The new Spanish property, the Anantara Villa Padierna Palace Benahavis Marbella Resort, will join an Anantara hotel in Portugal as part of the group’s European portfolio, and no doubt there will be more properties to follow on the continent.
Dillip Rajakarier, chief executive officer, Minor Hotels, said, “We are truly thrilled to launch Anantara Villa Padierna Palace as our first Anantara in Spain.”
“With our significant recent growth in Europe, especially in Spain, to have the opportunity to expand the footprint of our luxury Anantara brand is incredibly important to us. This is a fantastic addition to Anantara’s growing portfolio and we are confident the property will offer a special experience to our guests,” Mr Rajakarier elaborated.
Historic property with modern offering
The building is executed in a typical Spanish colonial style, often seen in palaces and lavish estates.
It was extensively renovated, and a heavy focus has been placed on its art collection, which features over 1,200 carefully selected artworks throughout the property.
The hotel boasts 120 guest rooms and suites, as well as nine private villas for the ultimate luxurious experience.
Set in picturesque surroundings, the guest rooms benefit from generous balconies and terraces with views of the golf course and the sea.
Perhaps the hotel’s biggest highlight is the state-of-the-art Anantara spa, which offers an array of treatments and a hydrotherapy circuit as well as a hammam and relaxation areas.
Guests will find no end to the activities on offer, which range from golf to tennis and croquet.
