Hilton has signed a franchise agreement with Gama Holdings to bring Tapestry Collection by Hilton to the London Bridge Hotel, marking the first appearance of the lifestyle brand in the UK capital. The hotel sits right next to London Bridge Station, close to The Shard, Borough Market, Tower Bridge, and the South Bank. It is set to reopen to guests in early 2028, following a renovation expected to cost more than £12 million.
The property will keep its 153 rooms, though the room mix will change. Among the new additions are garden vault rooms, a feature meant to stand out in a city full of standard hotel layouts. Gama Holdings has owned the building for more than three decades, and this deal marks a new chapter for the site rather than a change in ownership.
A New Look for the Ground Floor
The renovation will focus heavily on the ground floor, where several food and beverage outlets will open under one roof. All of them will be run by Individual Restaurants, a UK hospitality group with experience operating multiple dining concepts under a single site. The goal is to give the hotel a stronger presence at street level, since the location already draws heavy foot traffic from commuters, tourists, and office workers nearby.
With this signing, Tapestry Collection becomes the ninth Hilton-branded property operating in London. The London Bridge deal also follows a string of recent Tapestry Collection signings across the UK and Ireland:
- Plymouth (opening 2027)
- Cork (opening 2027)
- The Samuel Ryder Hotel St Albans (open)
- Elmbank York (open)
- The Marcus Portrush (open)
- Dover Marina Hotel & Spa (open)
That puts the total UK and Ireland count for the brand at seven, once Plymouth and Cork open as planned.
