With the inclusive “Easy Access” operating concept, Schaerer is setting a new benchmark in wheelchair-friendly, self-service coffee preparation. Whether in hospitals, assisted living facilities, offices or public spaces: Easy Access has been specially designed for wheelchair users, enabling them to intuitively select and customise drinks via clearly labelled buttons on the drip tray. The combination with the clear, logical user interface of the coffee machine ensures that wheelchair users, elderly people and those with limited dexterity can independently and conveniently prepare their favourite drinks. The “Easy Access” concept is now available worldwide for the Schaerer Coffee Soul 10 and 12. Existing machines can be retrofitted in under 30 minutes by a service technician.

Schaerer AG is celebrating a major milestone: the 100,000th Schaerer Coffee Soul has rolled off the production line in Zuchwil, highlighting the remarkable success of this versatile fully automatic coffee machine. First unveiled in its current generation at Host Milan in 2019, the Schaerer Coffee Soul has been in series production since October 2020. It has since delivered outstanding coffee quality worldwide with its innovative technology, contemporary design and intuitive operation – proving popular with everyone from owner‑run restaurants and hotels to international coffee shop and convenience‑store chains.
“Delivering the 100,000th Schaerer Coffee Soul is a special moment for us. Never before have we produced so many machines in such a short period – the Schaerer Coffee Soul is therefore the most successful machine in Schaerer’s history,” says Product Manager Sam Geissbühler. “This traction reflects our pioneering mindset and our focus on market trends and customer needs in every new machine and technology we bring to market”.

This year’s Internorga exhibition was all about the power of small details for Schaerer. “Sometimes, it’s the little things that make a significant difference. Visitors to our stand at Internorga experienced this first-hand, as we showcased three new, retrofittable features designed to enhance beverage quality and variety, enable fully accessible self-service, and significantly ease the workload for staff by optimising service processes,” says Hansjürg Marti, Managing Director of Schaerer Deutschland GmbH. At the Hamburg trade show, Schaerer introduced the Schaerer Coffee Skye, now available with the soon-to-be-optional Best Foam milk system, delivering barista-quality milk foam. The company also showcased a new, wheelchair-accessible user interface for the Schaerer Coffee Soul. Lastly, Schaerer demonstrated how seamless IoT connectivity enhances workflows, lightens staff responsibilities, and improves guest satisfaction through the Smartwatch Integration Solution, offered together with Turnpike.

This variant does not feature a fully-automated milk system and instead offers steam wands with different degrees of automation for manual foaming. This has a few different advantages: Since milk-based coffee beverages can be served much faster thanks to simultaneous preparation of espresso and milk foam, the waiting time for the end customer is reduced, especially at peak times. Foaming in the mug also increases the flexibility of the product range in terms of milk types/plant-based drinks, meaning specific guest requests can be catered to in the best possible way. Another advantage is the lower investment and maintenance costs since no automatic milk system or cooling unit is needed.

The Schaerer Coffee Skye can ideally be configured for specific customer requirements thanks to numerous equipment options. Schaerer now also offers the Twin Milk system for the Schaerer Coffee Skye for an even greater variety of beverages with reduced staff workload.
