Accor has signed an agreement with hotel investor and owner Grathon Business for a Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts site in the east of the Czech Republic.

The new five-star Swissôtel Marianske Lazne Resort & Spa will welcome its first guests in 2024.

Complex combination

The premium resort will be located in Marianske Lazne, which is known as a spa and leisure destination, and the site will be created by the merger of five existing buildings, resulting in a 130-room hotel.

The Swissôtel will feature modern façade design and a glass atrium with natural light illuminating the entire complex.

With themes of relaxation, peace, and tranquillity throughout modern and comfortable rooms, Accor believes the guest experience will be enhanced by forested hills combined with historical streets and monumental buildings of the town.

Moment of relaxation

Frank Reul, Accor’s VP of development for Northern Europe – Eastern Europe and the Balkans, said: “Czech Republic is one of the most famous and beloved tourist destinations in Central Europe, because of its cultural richness, monumental buildings, and natural healing mineral springs, which attract visitors from all over Europe.

“We are delighted to bring our Swissôtel brand to the Marianske Lazne, the second-largest spa town in the Czech Republic. With this project, we aim to provide a moment of relaxation for the body and spirit as well as unobvious visual impressions through the unique design of the building. We believe that our place, with attractive architecture, will contribute to the increase in the number of guests in Marianske Lazne, which is undoubtedly a cultural heritage that must be experienced for oneself.”

Luxury standards

A spokesperson from Grathon Business added: “The choice of Accor as our partner was based on many years of experience and a diversified portfolio of internationally recognised brands. Accor is for us a symbol of exceptional design, the highest standards, and unforgettable experiences. Cooperation with this global hospitality leader gives us incredible opportunities for the development of premium hotel services in the famous region of the Czech Republic.

“We believe that thanks to Accor, Marianske Lazne will further expand its status as a popular leisure destination with unique experiences and luxury standards in the Czech Republic and the entire region.”

European pipeline

Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts offers contemporary hotels infused with Alpine energy, rooted in the tradition of Swiss hospitality.

Elsewhere in Europe, the brand’s pipeline includes Swissotel Resort Kolasin, a 116-key ski resort heading to Montenegro in Q4 this year; the 175-room Swissotel Kopaonik which will arrive in Serbia in  Q3  2024; and plus the 225-key Swissotel Bucharest will land in the Romanian capital in Q1 2024.
