The brand’s fourth property in Mexico, Our Habitas Mazunte will provide a serene escape amid the jungle, cliffs and golden beaches of this Pacific coastline.
A coastal retreat
The innovation and sustainability focused hotel brand, Our Habitas, is opening its latest boutique property in the laid-back Oaxacan town of Mazunte. True to the brand, the hotel experience will be built around human connection, with experiential programming spanning wellness, adventure, music, art, food and learning.
At this coastal property, 28 ocean-view rooms will be perched amid the jungle treetops and these jungle-enshrouded rooms will be joined by social areas including a clubhouse with mezcal and tea bar.
The architecture and interiors of this new hotel will be inspired by the natural colours and materials of the region to harmonise the property with its natural surroundings.
“Our Habitas Mazunte is a unique property in a part of the world that is very special to us. We are honoured to make Mazunte our fourth home in Mexico and to give our community an exciting new world to discover,” said Oliver Ripley, Co-founder and CEO of Our Habitas.
Local connection
The Clubhouse will become the main hub of this property. Guests will be able to make use of the hub’s panoramic pool and try locally inspired culinary creations from the open-air kitchen as well as healthy smoothies, teas and cocktails from the mezcal and tea bar.
Wellness will be a focus at Our Habitas Mazunte with treatments fusing ancient spiritual techniques with advanced wellness practices in the spa, which is home to a barrel sauna, Jacuzzi and cold plunge pool. Other wellness activities will include yoga, breathwork and HIIT classes at the jungle gym.
Guests will be able to spend their time surfing, snorkelling, hiking and taking part in turtle liberations. The town of Mazunte is home to a collection of boutiques stores, local restaurants and The Mexican Turtle Centre and the property is around one hour from Puerto Escondido and Huatulco airport.
Our Habitas will strive to have a positive impact on the local community and environment by supporting conscious tourism in Oaxaca through its Habitas RISE initiative.
