Showcasing design by Blackney Hayes Architects, Voco Times Square South enables travellers to escape from the frenetic pace of Midtown Manhattan by relaxing on its quiet outdoor terrace.

Voco Times Square South provides an appealing base for guests to explore some of New York City’s top attractions.

The full Voco experience

Created by IHG in collaboration with Ascott Residence Trust, this brand-new property promises to reflect the premium brand’s commitment to providing an unstuffy hosted experience distinguished by personal touches, not least a welcome treat from New York chocolatier Xocolatti. The upscale scheme becomes only the third Voco-branded hotel in the Americas, and the second in the Big Apple after Voco The Franklin New York.

Nicole Hendrix, general manager of Voco Times Square South, said: “Now more than ever, we recognise how special a trip to New York City is for so many – and we deliver a trusted yet differentiated experience to meet the expectations and needs of travellers.

“I’m incredibly proud of the elevated customer experience we offer our guests at Voco. We aim to be a comforting, friendly face for guests and are delighted to play a part in helping visitors experience quintessential New York City.”

Gina LaBarre, regional vice president of Voco Hotels, added: “We saw an opportunity to capture the best of both worlds when it comes to a Manhattan hotel – premium, yet approachable – and are incredibly proud to officially open our newest New York City property in under a year from signing this deal with the hotel owner. As we see travel returning both for business and leisure, Times Square South is a prime location and opportunity to share the relaxed, charming Voco experience, while still delivering excellent, hosted service.”

Ample space for relaxation

The hotel has been designed by Blackney Hayes Architects to reflect Voco’s signature style, integrating warm colours, natural finishes and bold accents. The 224 guestrooms here come with plush duvets, luxurious linens, Apotheke plant-based bath amenities and blackout curtains.

Relaxation spaces include a tranquil greenhouse and outdoor terrace, featuring a mural by Manhattan-based artist Tony ‘Rubin’ Sjöman. The scheme also ensures care is taken of the environment, with reduced plastic use, lower water consumption and recycled materials employed at every opportunity.

From the hotel, guests have easy access to the vibrant Hell’s Kitchen and historic Garment District neighbourhoods it’s located between, as well as Times Square, Madison Square Garden, Hudson Yards and Penn Station.
