Staycity ramps up its presence in Dublin

Aparthotel operator Staycity has opened a 142-key scheme designed by DTA Architects near Trinity College Dublin in the heart of the Irish capital.

Staycity is continuing its rapid expansion drive with the launch of another aparthotel in its home city.

Doors open on Mark Street

After overseeing high-profile openings in Bordeaux, Heidelberg, Manchester and London (two) over the course of 2021, Dublin-headquartered aparthotel operator Staycity has added another scheme to its portfolio. The new Staycity Aparthotels Dublin – Mark Street is conveniently located near Trinity College Dublin.

“This property has a fantastic location in the heart of the city,” said Staycity CEO and co-founder Tom Walsh. “We have seen a huge surge in demand for aparthotels, amongst both business and leisure travellers who appreciate the home-from-home environment and freedom to self-cater but with additional facilities such as the gym, reception and café.”

Everything guests need

Staycity Aparthotels Dublin – Mark Street has been developed by Tetrarch Capital and designed by local firm DTA Architects. Aparthotels have been popping up all over Dublin in recent years, and cater for an ever-increasing transient population in the city visiting for work or leisure purposes.

This property boasts 142 studio and single-bed apartments; each one has a fully equipped kitchen for preparing home-cooked meals, plus distinct living, dining and sleeping spaces, while the property also features a 24-hour reception, gym and fitness room, laundry facilities and Staycafé. The hotel’s general manager is Natalie Smith, who brings experience in operations, housekeeping and management to her role as head of a 20-strong team.

As for Staycity, it certainly seems to be going from strength to strength, and hopes to have a portfolio of 5,000 apartments across its two arms, Staycity Aparthotels and Wilde Aparthotels by Staycity, by the end of spring 2022. The group currently has properties operating in Berlin, Birmingham, Bordeaux, Dublin, Edinburgh, Heidelberg, Liverpool, London, Lyon, Manchester, Marseille, Paris, Venice and York.
