The bold European expansion of this lifestyle hospitality brand builds on the success of 2019-launched The Standard, London, and 2022-opened The Standard, Ibiza.
Brussels arrival
Of these three forthcoming properties, The Standard, Brussels is expected to open in the first half of 2025. The hotel will be located within the transformed World Trade Center, in the city’s multipurpose redevelopment project, ZIN.
This hotel will house 200 guest rooms, including 20 for extended stays, and the ground-floor will feature a lobby restaurant and bar that draws inspiration from the adjacent botanical garden to fuse nature with modernity. A highlight of this property will be its 29th-floor rooftop garden and brasserie.
The Standard’s in-house design team, led by Verena Haller, is collaborating with Jaspers-Eyers Architects and Bernard Dubois Architects on the design of this property.
A restored site in Lisbon
In the historic town of Alfama, Lisbon, the late-2025-opening Standard hotel will transform a former naval hospital into a mixed-use lifestyle destination, for which STC Arquitetura is responsible for the architectural restoration. The Standard’s in-house design team is collaborating with Jaime Hayon of Hayon Studio on the interiors.
The hotel will be home to 172 guest rooms, alongside a collection of branded residences. Social spaces within the hotel will include a café offering views of Campo de Santa Clara, a lounge that takes over a restored pharmacy, and a signature restaurant.
Additional amenities at the property will then include an outdoor pool deck and terrace, an on-site spa drawing inspiration from Alfama’s Moorish heritage, and a rooftop cocktail bar with sea views.
Plans for Dublin
Further ahead in 2027, The Standard, Dublin is set to debut in the mixed-use Dublin Arch development, which was formerly Connelly Corner, also integrating business and residential projects.
This property will feature 200 guest rooms, along with an array of lifestyle spaces in line with The Standard portfolio.
Overall, this brand’s hotels are known for their avant-garde programming and thoughtful design, and this property will be no different, with experiences that shape the local area.
