Following the £90 million redevelopment of an existing property, The St Regis London will showcase the work of Peter Newman-Earp of Morrison Design and Richmond International.

The St Regis London looks certain to embody the tradition and glamorous spirit that this prestigious hotel brand has become known for across the globe.

A historic renovation

Marriott International has signed a management agreement with Cola Holdings and The Westbury Hotel to bring a new St Regis property to the heart of the well-heeled Mayfair district in the UK’s capital. Expected to open in 2023, The St Regis London will launch after an extensive £90 million redevelopment of the former The Westbury Mayfair, A Luxury Collection Hotel, London, which includes adding an eighth floor.

“This is a pivotal moment for St Regis Hotels & Resorts as we bring this cherished brand to the United Kingdom,” said George Fleck, vice president and global brand leader, St Regis Hotels & Resorts. “St Regis offers an exquisite experience inspired by the exceptional private retreats of its founding family, the Astors, whose commitment to excellence, sophisticated style and passion for innovation continue to define the guest experience today.

“We are delighted to bring the brand’s timeless legacy, cherished traditions and bespoke service to one of the finest addresses in London, and look forward to becoming the city’s most glamorous destination for locals and travellers alike.”

Encapsulating the St Regis philosophy

This luxury hotel, located on the corner of Bond Street and Conduit Street, will combine the brand’s vanguard spirit and timeless glamour with its signature rituals, butler service and British style.

The St Regis London will be designed by Peter Newman-Earp of Morrison Design with interiors by Richmond International. The property is expected to encompass 196 guestrooms and suites, while an extension to the rear will create additional space for new public venues.

Among the exciting facilities being planned are a signature restaurant, speakeasy jazz bar, fitness centre and spa. The building’s façade and the dropoff area outside the main entrance will also be enhanced, and the hotel’s legendary Polo Bar will be retained.

“We are delighted to celebrate the signing of The St Regis London with Cola Holdings and The Westbury Hotel,” said Paul Thomas, vice president of international hotel development for Marriott International. “London is a highly sought-after market for luxury travellers and this landmark signing underscores our commitment to growing Marriott International’s dynamic portfolio in strategic destinations.”
