Marriott International has signed an agreement with PGA Hotel Management Group to open the first all-inclusive Westin Hotels & Resorts property in South America following an extensive renovation.

The Westin Porto de Galinhas is expected to welcome its first guests in September 2021.

An exciting development for Marriott

The Westin Porto de Galinhas will soon host travellers on one of Northeast Brazil’s most famous beaches, just minutes from the tourist centre of Porto de Galinhas. The hotel site is currently undergoing an extensive programme of renovation work.

“We are delighted to work with PGA Hotel Management Group to introduce the Westin all-inclusive brand extension and its signature wellbeing offering to one of the most beautiful areas in the north-eastern coast of Brazil,” said Laurent de Kousemaeker, chief development officer in the Caribbean and Latin America for Marriott International. “After introducing Marriott’s all-inclusive platform, in August 2019, we are excited to see its expansion from Mexico and the Caribbean into Central America and now South America.”

“We are very excited to work with Marriott International and bring the Westin brand and the all-inclusive premium concept to Porto de Galinhas – a destination that already stands out not only for its natural beauty, but for its hospitality,” added Eduardo Malheiros, CEO of PGA Group.

All-inclusive luxury in Northeast Brazil

The hotel – set to become the first Westin Hotels & Resorts-branded property in Brazil – will be situated on 215,000 sq ft of oceanfront land backing the famous beach of Porto de Galinhas. It’ll feature 128 guest rooms and 36 spacious suites in total, some of which come with their own private decks and Jacuzzis.

This accommodation will be complemented by five pools, which are to be treated with state-of-the-art UV technology, alongside a luxurious spa and direct access to the beach. Guests can expect an exciting drinking and dining offering, and engaging programming for both children and adults seven days a week.

Marriott International launched its all-inclusive platform, which covers eight of Marriott’s 30 global brands, in 2019 in response to the growing demand for premium and luxury all-inclusive stays. This particular all-inclusive hotel in Porto de Galinhas promises to incorporate a new level of wellness into its guest offering, and integrate nature-inspired designs that bring guests closer to outdoor living.

Marriott International currently operates 13 hotels across South America’s largest country. These properties fall under the JW Marriott, Marriott Hotels, Sheraton, Renaissance, Autograph Collection, Four Points by Sheraton, Courtyard by Marriott, Residence Inn and Marriott Executive Apartments brands.
