Accor and Al Hamra have joined forces to create the first Sofitel resort in the emirate – a 300-key coastal scheme next to an 18-hole championship golf course.

A new luxury hospitality scheme is being lined up for the fast-growing emirate of Ras Al Khaimah.

Expansion in the UAE

Accor has signed a deal with Ras Al Khaimah-based real estate development and investment company Al Hamra to expand its hospitality portfolio in the UAE by opening a landmark Sofitel-branded resort. This exciting scheme, Sofitel Ras Al Khaimah Beach Resort, is expected to open in 2023.

Benoy Kurien, group CEO of Al Hamra, said: “Through our partnership with Accor to bring the Sofitel brand to the emirate, we strengthen our portfolio of hospitality and leisure assets, in addition to revolutionising the hospitality landscape in Ras Al Khaimah.”

Mark Willis, CEO of Accor in India, Middle East, Africa and Turkey, added: “The introduction of Sofitel Ras Al Khaimah Beach Resort positions Accor as a key player in the emirate’s commitment to develop tourism through enhanced visitor experience with differential and sustainable products, while showcasing Accor’s branding capabilities as a leading hospitality group in the region.”

An appealing lifestyle setting

The new Sofitel resort will be set between the Arabian Gulf and Hajar mountains, surrounded by a private beach, gardens and an 18-hole golf course. Mountains, desert and mangroves make up the distinct terrain of this destination, which also has the longest stretch of coastline in the UAE.

Conveniently located, the site earmarked for development is less than one hour’s drive from Dubai International Airport.

Sofitel Ras Al Khaimah Beach Resort will be part of the Al Hamra integrated tourism destination, encompassing Al Hamra Golf Club and its 18-hole championship golf course, Al Hamra Marina and Yacht Club, Al Hamra International Exhibition and Conference Centre, Al Hamra Mall, residences and more. The resort will house 300 guestrooms, suites and villas with attractive garden, golf and sea views, along with six globally inspired restaurants.
