Sheraton Grand Tbilisi gets a makeover
Marriott has been on a mission to makeover not just Sheraton properties, but the reputation of the entire Sheraton brand itself. This, of course, starts with overhauling the actual hotels, and such is the case with the Sheraton Grand Tbilisi Metechi Palace.
This well known hotel is located in the centre of the Georgian capital Tbilisi, and is notable for being the first branded hotel chain in the city, and so one of the most recognisable hotels.
This alone is reason enough to make sure it lives up to the standard Sheraton and Marriott have set for themselves, and the traditions of this great hotel brand can be seen in a contemporary style in the newly appointed guest rooms, which have been executed in a sophisticated and timeless fashion.
“Where the world comes together”
Sheraton’s new brand strap is “Where the world comes together”, and this mission statement can be seen in many different facets of the hotel. One of the big selling points of Marriott’s new vision for Sheraton is that this classic brand will be brought into the new age by aligning itself with modern trends in hospitality, such as offering lifestyle experiences and creating areas where both guests and locals can enjoy the famous Sheraton hospitality.
The hotel aims to encourage this through the various different culinary offerings on-site, including Feast, an all-day dining restaurant, the Craft House bar and the Wine Library, as well as an innovative Mediterranean fusion restaurant with on the roof with panoramic views of the surrounding city.
Guests can also avail of the hotel’s state of the art spa and wellness facilities, and business and leisure travelers alike will find the hotel to be an ideal spot in Tbilisi, especially given its ample conference and meeting facilities, which includes the largest ballroom in the city.
The hotel opened with a Community Voices event in June, signalling that Sheraton starts as it means to continue: engaged with the local community.
