SHA Wellness Clinic has partnered with IMKAN to launch the world’s first healthy living island.

SHA Emirates will be located in AlJurf, an enclave on the coastline approximately halfway between Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

The next stage for a wellness leader

The wellness island marks the next step in SHA Wellness Clinic’s global expansion plans, after fifteen years operating from its Spanish base and an outpost in Mexico.

SHA Emirates Island at AlJurf will be created in tandem with Abu-Dhabi based developer IMKAN, and contain a range of luxury beachfront residences alongside a SHA Wellness Clinic.

The anticipated completion date for the residences is early 2026.

The private island will be accessible only to residents and guests, with an anticipated completion date of early 2026. The low-density development will comprise a total of 86 Villas (all with beach access) and 49 apartments and two penthouses.

SHA Residences Emirates will contain four to seven bedrooms, with private gardens and pools.  Each villa blends natural and sustainable elements such as locally sourced stone, sustainably harvested wood, eco-friendly paints with the incorporation of energy-efficient appliances, intelligent monitoring and control systems, and solar-powered heating and electricity.

A selection of apartments will be available from one to four bedrooms including two Penthouse apartments.

SHA Emirates will contain an on-site spa, medical treatments, sport and marine pavilions, a beach club and a kids club, as well as dedicated bike paths.

A team of international and local architects and designers – NMDC, SAOTA, HBA, SIEC, and OTAK – were involved in the creation of SHA Emirates Island.

SHA Emirates Island was also created with the aim to achieve the WELL building certification System, from Delos, the global authority on green building and practices.

Hand-picked Middle Eastern locale

Co-Founder and Vice President of SHA Wellness Clinic, Alejandro Bataller said the Middle Eastern location was perfect for SHA’s global expansion.

“We travelled to dozens of locations in search of the perfect natural environment, warm weather, and accessibility to create the world’s first fully integrated wellness island and found everything we could imagine and more at the seaside destination of AlJurf,” he said.

SHA Wellness Clinic has won over 100 international awards including “World’s Best Wellness Clinic” consecutively by World Spa Awards. It has also received the Condé Nast Traveller Award, the “Best Global Detox Retreat” at the Luxury Spa Edit Awards and “Worldwide Health & Wellness Destination of the Year “ Award at the World Spa & Wellness Awards.
