SH Hotels & Resorts has appointed Damon Page as area MD for its Asia Pacific region, a territory that is a focus of exponential growth for the company.

Page will oversee each of the group brands’ development throughout the region, encompassing 1 Hotels, Baccarat Hotels, and Treehouse Hotels.

Upcoming openings

SH Hotels & Resorts’ next regional opening will be 1 Hotels & Homes Melbourne, featuring 277 guestrooms and 114 hotel-branded residences. Page will manage this property directly on a day-to-day basis.

Next up will be the 2026 arrival of the 248-key Treehouse Adelaide. Both of these sites will be brand debuts in Australia.

Page will also use his extensive industry experience to oversee new asset development and strategic direction for pre-opening and existing operations teams including 1 Hotel Haitang Bay in Sanya, China, which opened in 2020 as the brand’s first property in the area.

Experienced track record

Based in Melbourne, Page has a 30-year global track record of expertise and experience in Asia Pacific including China, Hong Kong, Maldives, and Malaysia, overseeing a spectrum of hotel operations – including new launches in gateway cities, casino and convention hotels, flagship brands and company-owned assets.

He has consistently demonstrated visionary strategic and operational leadership for multiple luxury brands. Page is known for building strong, collaborative teams with the knowledge and insight to generate exceptional returns and achieve operational excellence in constantly changing often volatile economic environments.

Consummate operator

Raul Leal, CEO of SH Hotels & Resorts, said: “Damon is the consummate operator, strategist, and visionary, and his knowledge of the Asia Pacific region is incomparable. We are thrilled to welcome him to the organisation, and look forward to remarkable growth ahead.”

Page himself added: “It’s an incredibly exciting time for the SH Hotels & Resorts brands. There is a world of opportunity waiting, especially in the stunning landscape of the Asia-Pacific, to bring our nature-inspired lifestyle brand – and all those in the portfolio – to new guests and local communities.”
