Of the 72 new hotels in North America, 63 will open in the US, the rest are spread across Canada, Mexico, Guatemala and Jamaica.

China records the strongest growth in Asia with 16 openings, followed by emerging markets such as Vietnam and Thailand.

New hotels worth a trip

If you haven’t used up this year’s vacation days, there are a few special openings that are well worth a visit.

For example, The Bridge Crowne Plaza Phu Quoc Starbay in Vietnam. From white sandy beaches and a daily entertainment programme to specialty restaurants, the hotel impresses guests with its well-rounded offering.

For special meeting and event rooms, the InterContinental San Francisco is the right destination. Here, each floor features artwork from the most significant years in the city’s history.

Sheraton Cebu Mactan Resort & Residences in the Philippines is a new lifestyle destination with a spacious pool area, several restaurants and an extensive sports and spa offering.

If you prefer the quiet, the Hilton Goa Resort would be a good choice. This luxurious resort in India’s Candolim mountains promises absolute relaxation away from the tourist hotspots.
