Pan Pacific London
A peek into the TOPHOTELPROJECTS construction database shows that Europe will be the most active region for hotel openings, well ahead of APAC and North America.
In September 2021, 275 hotels with 54,089 rooms are due to make their debuts around the world, our research indicates. We find out more about these upcoming launches.
September 2021 hotel openings by region
Europe is expected to be by far the most dynamic growth market in September, with 103 new hotels and 16,107 additional rooms on the cards, well ahead of APAC (69 properties and 16,831 keys). However, a quick comparison of the respective room counts of Europe and APAC shows that properties in the former will on average be a good deal smaller than those in the latter.
North America takes third place overall, with 62 planned openings set to bring 11,412 rooms into play. A further 24 projects are nearing completion over in the Middle East, while 12 are on track to launch in Africa, and five more are coming to Latin America.
Of the 275 new properties being tracked by our researchers around the world, the vast majority (179) are in the four-star segment, while the remainder (96) fall into the five-star category.

Noteworthy hotel openings in September 2021
While many interesting properties will open their doors this month, we’ve chosen to focus on three new hotels in London.
Located in a prime spot on Leicester Square, The Londoner will offer a new lifestyle-focused abode spread across 15 floors. Designed for grand and intimate occasions, The Londoner will have 350 rooms and suites, four concept restaurants and lounges, and a spectacular rooftop bar. Other facilities include a state-of-the-art ballroom for up to 1,000 guests, two new Odeon Luxe cinemas and a subterranean spa.
Close to Liverpool Street station, meanwhile, the 41-key Boutique Hotel One Crown Place London will stretch across six Georgian townhouses with their own unique personalities. The ground-floor communal areas will be interlinked by a series of rooms, including a deli, social café, art gallery, reception parlour, club lounge with bar and library room. Guestrooms and suites will be opulent but cosy, with ornate detailing and patterned wallpapers complementing natural woods, and a covered courtyard at the rear will welcome diners from the hotel’s restaurant.
Just a short walk away, Pan Pacific London will also launch this month. The 237-key luxury hotel will occupy a 43-storey tower alongside 160 apartments and retail outlets. London’s first Pan Pacific hotel will offer an elegant spa, meeting and events spaces, a 380-seat double-height ballroom facility and an exceptional F&B programme overseen by executive chef Lorraine Sinclair and executive pastry chef Cherish Finden.
