See the Latest Award-Winning Hotel Design
Hotel design—both interior and exterior—is arguably one of the fastest changing disciplines within architecture, with in vogue styles and motifs seemingly changing by the month.
While these trends may often make it somewhat difficult for hotel owners and operators, especially those with properties that aspire to impress visitors with how trendy and forward-thinking they are, this rapidly evolving nature can prove challenging, creating a constant need to reinvest in the aesthetic touches that give such hotels such enviable character. However, for many observers, it’s this rapidly changing nature that makes watching hotel design from the outside such a surprising and absolute pleasure.
One of the easiest ways to stay abreast of what is and is not fashionable in hotel design, is to monitor the major awards that industry experts bestow upon designers. Take, for example, Grohe recent victories at the Red Dot Awards, known as one of the most coveted awards honoring exceptional performance in the creative arena of design. Grohe recently took home five of the most sought after design accolades from the Red Dot Awards for its Blue Home water system, Lineare bathroom mixer, Sensia Arena shower toilet, and Concetto Professional and Essence Professional lines of kitchen and other sink taps.
The recognition that was bestowed upon the work done by Grohe brings the total number of Red Dot Awards that the LIXIL Corporation has won in 2017 up to six. The LIXIL Corporation is a global sanitary ware market leader, which includes many premium brands such as Grohe. Red Dot itself is an international design competition that is held by the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen in Germany. The event appraises the best products created within the rapidly-changing design industry during the year. The way it works is that designers from all over the planet submit the products they have created to a jury of 40 specialized experts, who then go on to evaluate the products, using a criteria that is based on innovation, functionality, ergonomics, durability and ecological compatibility. In 2017, more than 5,500 total products were submitted, coming from a whopping 54 countries throughout the world.
In past years the winners of these awards have gone on to become fixtures at many of the best designed hotels all throughout the global hospitality industry. This year stands to be no different. With Grohe capturing a total of five awards, chances are its work will find itself incorporated into many new designs in the months to come.
