Scandic Hotels to join ITP an help hospitality industry achieve sustainable development

The company’s many hotels are all certified according to the Nordic Ecolabel

As the leading Nordic hotel company, Scandic is bringing its own best practices and expertise on sustainability to a collaboration with 13 other leading hoteliers in the International Tourism Partnership (ITP)

Scandic is a signatory of Agenda 2030, and it also happens to be a signatory of the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

As such, the company’s many hotels are all certified according to the Nordic Ecolabel, and they also work across a range of sustainability initiatives in order to tackle issues such as single-use disposables and food waste as well as to promote water stewardship, diversity and inclusion, and other goals that are shared among many operators and stakeholders in the wider-spanning industry.

Scandic’s Industry-Leading Solutions

Scandic’s industry-leading solutions are varied and effective, and they include measures such as the “hang up your towel” standard, organic breakfasts and design that is crafted in order to be inclusive for all. Scandic’s hotels run on 100 percent renewable energy, and in recent years, Scandic has even achieved the difficult benchmark of having reduced CO2 emissions at its many hotels by as much as 40 percent.
