Sage Hospitality Group has announced that The Rally Hotel, which showcases the work of Stantec, Icrave, Hensel Phelps and others, will launch next to the home of the Colorado Rockies in the spring of 2021.

Part of the McGregor Square development, The Rally Hotel promises to represent the best of Colorado’s capital city. We take a closer look.

A homage to the Mile High City

When it opens this spring, The Rally Hotel will provide an exciting new place to stay at the heart of the Mile High City’s LoDo neighbourhood at the point between Wynkoop and Wazee and 19th and 20th streets.

Made for memorable experiences, the hotel will comprise a rooftop deck and pool overlooking the Coors Field stadium next door and the Rocky Mountains, along with three food and drink venues, 21,000 sq ft of event space and what will become the home of an interactive celebration of the Colorado Rockies baseball franchise.

From this new interactive space to elements of the design, the hotel will pay homage to Denver’s Major League Baseball team as well as various other aspects of the city. The hotel even takes its name from the rally cap baseball superstition in which fans wear their caps inside out or backwards for luck.

Sage Studio, a Sage Hospitality Group company, came up with the overall concept for The Rally Hotel. Denver-based architecture firm Stantec oversaw the design for the hotel, as well as the rest of McGregor Square, with general construction led by Hensel Phelps and interior designs masterminded by New York City’s Icrave.

“The Rally Hotel will undoubtedly be a highly sought-after destination for guests and locals alike,” said Dick Monfort, developer of McGregor Square and The Rally Hotel. “We are excited to be a part of the memories that people make in Denver. From the rooms to the dining options to the amenities, we cannot wait to open the doors of this beautiful property.”

Raising the bar in Denver

The Rally Hotel will encompass 176 guest rooms, of which 29 are suites, with thoughtfully designed interiors featuring Colorado-inspired minibars, made for comfort and approachable luxury. The eighth storey, aptly named the Mile High Floor, will comprise a collection of rooms with a dramatic dark wood and deep-purple design that reflects the colours of the mountains. These rooms will be joined by six penthouse residential suites with kitchens, living areas, private balconies and direct access to the Bridge-Way Rooftop and Pool Deck.

Drinking and dining venues across the hotel will include the Grandstand lobby cafe and bar for morning coffees and evening cocktails with a bite to eat; the sleekly designed Rally Bar for drinks and snacks throughout the day; and a yet-to-be-announced full-service restaurant, which is to be adjacent to the hotel and operated by Sage Restaurant Concepts.

Ranging from boardrooms to ballrooms, the event space here will make the most of the Colorado sunshine or evening city views, with catering options spanning everything from a nod-to-the-baseball hotdog stand to a five-course meal with wine pairing. An art collection by Denver’s Nine dot Arts will further add local spirit to each space.

Upon opening, the hotel will be an anchor for McGregor Square. With its abundant restaurants and retail along with a circular plaza featuring a 110-foot LED screen for entertainment, the new family-friendly hub is aiming to quickly establish itself as ‘Denver’s playground’.
