IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a Ruby hotel in Asia Pacific, a 184-room property in Bangkok’s Sathorn business district. It is also the brand’s debut in Thailand and its first move into the region since IHG acquired Ruby. Asset World Corp (AWC) is the owner and development partner, and the hotel is expected to open in 2027. IHG sees Bangkok as a launchpad and says more urban sites across the wider region could follow.

Design and Guest Experience
The hotel takes its cue from the tropical glamour of 1920s Siam, blending design, music, and local storytelling. A 24/7 bar anchors the public spaces, and music runs through the stay, from live evening performances to in-room Marshall speakers and guitars guests can borrow. Rooms add oversized beds, rainfall showers, and self-service technology.
Partnership and Market
AWC CEO and President Wallapa Traisorat described the project as the next chapter in a long-standing partnership with IHG. She said the hotel will draw on Sathorn’s heritage and creative scene, with plans to work with local artists and social enterprises. IHG says Ruby’s flexible space needs and conversion-friendly designs suit urban owners, and it pointed to adaptive reuse projects as a fit for Bangkok’s evolution.
The signing adds to IHG’s Thailand portfolio, which stands at 42 open hotels and 41 in the pipeline across 11 destinations and 11 brands.
