Rosewood Miramar Beach channels California soul in new retreat
The heart of Rosewood Miramar Beach, the Manor House
A new ultra-luxury Rosewood retreat opens in an enviable setting right on California’s stunning Montecito coast.
Luxurious seaside resorts don’t come much better than the new Rosewood Miramar Beach property, recently opened in Montecito in California.
The retreat boasts ocean views, an unparalleled setting and a deep connection to the place it is in.
We find out more.
Rosewood Miramar Beach and Montecito’s history
Rosewood’s first property in Southern California was always going to be a thing of beauty, and the Rosewood Miramar Beach resort certainly doesn’t disappoint.
Conceived of as an ultra-luxurious beachside retreat for the discerning traveller, this hotel draws on the Montecito area’s past and on the history of the site itself.
The Miramar by the Sea private residence was built on this coastal stretch of land in 1876, which went on to become a compact settlement of beach cottages, allowing friends to pass through and spend some idyllic days on the California coast.
Rosewood Miramar Beach has tried to emulate this idea by recreating the signature residences in Montecito and giving them the classic Rosewood stamp.
“Rosewood Miramar Beach is the pinnacle of design, setting and service,” said Sonia Cheng, chief executive officer of Rosewood Hotel Group. “It is a true jewel not only in the rich hospitality landscape of Montecito and Santa Barbara, but across the globe. Guests will delight in the relaxed atmosphere of coastal California while enjoying Rosewood’s intuitive service and our modern, ultra-luxury approach to the resort experience.”
A retreat with a residential flair
The property’s character is inspired by that of the properties around it. Luxurious residential homes are the order of the day in this upscale part of Southern California, and this is reflected in every aspect of the Rosewood Miramar Beach.
The resort strikes the perfect balance between a comfortable yet luxurious residence, a beachfront retreat and a full-service hotel.
The property has 161 guest rooms and suites spread out over 16 acres. The Manor House is the heart of the resort and is accessed from a dramatic driveway, which complements the sweeping staircase that greets guests as soon as they come through the door.
Private residences, villas and bungalows also dot the property’s curtilage. They all have picturesque patios and balconies from where the famous California sunsets can be observed.
At the centre of the estate is the Cabana Pool, a curved swimming pool that evokes the kidney-shaped pools once so popular in Southern California.
The resort also boasts an incredible privately curated art collection of over 600 pieces which can be viewed throughout the hotel.
