Riu Plaza London Victoria is a conversion of a building first constructed in the 1960s, with the refurbishment turning it into a four star hotel.
Riu spent some time seeking the ideal opportunity to expand the city hotel brand into the UK, which it identifies as an important market as it represents a large proportion of its clientele in Spain and the Caribbean.
The renovated building’s structure and its best aspects have been kept, and the interior is being completely transformed, with attention to design and comfort as well as the latest developments in energy efficiency and sustainable operations.
The Hotel Riu Plaza London Victoria has 435 modern rooms and suites with views of the city. All of the rooms are designed to give guests a good night’s rest and are fully equipped with amenities.
The hotel will have a lobby bar, an open air terrace and a restaurant where guests can enjoy a buffet breakfast or an à la carte dinner. Also onsite is a 24-hour gym that is fully equipped with the most modern machines.
Riu is continuing to extend its global footprint, with upcoming projects on four continents.
New hotels heading into the portfolio include the 800-key Riu Hotel Pointe Sarene in Senegal; Riu Grand Plaza Hotel Chicago in the USA, bringing 388-rooms across 29 storeys online in Q1 2024; and Riu Bogota, adding 200 keys to the Columbian capital in 2025.
