Residence Inn to expand to the Nordics

Marriott International has signed an agreement with Core Hospitality to introduce the Residence Inn By Marriott brand to the Nordics by opening a 95-key property in Copenhagen.
The Residence Inn by Marriott extended-stay hotel brand is expected to land in the Danish capital in 2023.
Entering a new market
A collaboration between Marriott International and Danish hotel operator Core Hospitality, Residence Inn by Marriott Copenhagen, Nordhavn will be located within Copenhagen’s North Harbour district, 5 km from the city centre. Owned by PFA Properties, this hotel is set to form part of the company’s Nordø development. Construction of the property began in the second quarter of 2020 and is expected to complete in 2023.
“The introduction of the Residence Inn by Marriott brand in the Nordics reinforces the demand we’re seeing for international hotel brands in the region and for the longer-stay market,” said Axel Steinbach, director of international hotel development in the Nordics for Marriott International. “We’re delighted to work with Core Hospitality to bring this key project to Copenhagen.”
“We are thrilled to be working with Marriott International to sign the debut of Residence Inn by Marriott in the Nordics,” added Per Denker Sørensen, CEO of Core Hospitality. “Core Hospitality and PFA Properties have high ambitions for the hotel’s sustainability. We strive to achieve multiple eco-certificates, including the prestigious ‘DGNB Gold’ for a sustainable building and ‘Green Key’ for sustainable operations.”
The ideal location for extended stays
The new hotel will cater for both business and leisure travellers. It’s currently expected to have 95 apartment-style suites, designed by Henning Larsen Architects to provide a home away from home; guests can expect separate areas for living, working and sleeping, along with dedicated desk space, a fully functional kitchen and either ocean or courtyard views.
While staying here, guests will have access to a private hotel lounge as well as fitness facilities and bicycle rental.
The city’s transformed North Harbour district is the ideal location for extended stays, with the area also offering recreational space, Sandkaj Harbour bath and a cinema, as well as restaurants, cafés and supermarkets. In addition, the hotel will benefit from easy-to-access transport links to the centre and the international airport, as well as Oslo and Norway via the DFDS ferry, and it’ll be near a host of embassies and Parken Arena.
On opening, this new property will join an impressive portfolio of Marriott International hotels in the city, which also includes Moxy Copenhagen Sydhavnen and Copenhagen Marriott Hotel.
