The hospitality market in Africa has been booming for some time, and now new information from the TOPHOTELCONSTRUCTION database is providing insight into the region’s future growth.
A recent report from TOPHOTELCONSTRUCTION finds that Egypt is the country with the most active project pipeline on the entire African continent.
Egypt currently has 55 projects in its pipeline, which is nearly double that of the next closest country, Morocco with 36.
This likely means Africa’s hospitality boom is being powered in part by tourism in Egypt, where visitors come from across the globe each year to enjoy unique historical sites such as the Great Pyramids.
Africa’s booming hospitality market
Egypt is far from the only country in Africa with many hotels currently in its project pipeline.
In fact, the report from TOPHOTELCONSTRUCTION paints a positive picture for the top countries in Africa, at least in terms of projects currently underway.
After Egypt and Morocco, the top 10 is rounded out by Nigeria, Ethiopia, Kenya, Algeria, South Africa, Cape Verde, Senegal, and the Ivory Coast.
On average, Africa’s top ten countries in terms of their hospitality market currently have about 22 hotels in their pipelines, with Egypt being the major outlier with its 55.
