The hotel management and development company Gulph Creek Hotels (GCH) is to redevelop the Best Western Plus hotel in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania.

This ambitious redevelopment project will include the creation of a 136-room Residence Inn by Marriott and 68-room Hotel Prussia, BW Signature Collection.

A major redevelopment

The 168-room Best Western Plus in King of Prussia is now set to undergo a redevelopment in which three two-storey sections of the hotel will be demolished to make way for new construction.

The demolished section, totalling 100 rooms, will be replaced with the 136-room Residence Inn by Marriott and the remaining 68-room section will be converted into Hotel Prussia, BW Signature Collection.

Derek Sylvester, principal of GCH said: “The Best Western Plus Inn at King of Prussia is located in our backyard, and as such, we have a deep understanding and appreciation for this market.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with Marriott, Best Western and our retail partners to develop the premier hotel campus in Philadelphia, providing guests with an unparalleled hospitality experience.”

A new lifestyle hub

On opening, the new Residence Inn by Marriott will feature facilities including a bar, an expansive patio and grills and fire pits that surround an outdoor pool. The new Hotel Prussia will then feature a private lounge and workspace with food and beverage offerings, a cross-fit gym and a 600-sq-ft meeting room.

These two hotels will be joined by a 10,000-sq-ft retail centre featuring two contemporary restaurants. The hotels and retail centre will be connected by an expansive landscaped courtyard with gathering areas and two walking paths.

The 68-room section of Best Western Plus will remain open and operational throughout the redevelopment project. Both hotels and the retail centre are expected to be open by summer 2024, with the conversion of the Best Western hotel to Hotel Prussia expected to reach completion by spring 2024.
