Locally inspired hospitality schemes in Tahiti, the French Riviera and Colorado have all made the cut in our roundup of November’s most exciting new arrivals.

These impressive properties by Hilton Worldwide, IHG and Marriott International immerse guests into their surroundings with the help of carefully considered design concepts.

Hilton Hotel Tahiti

Providing a new retreat for visitors to French Polynesia’s capital, the 200-key Hilton Hotel Tahiti is ideally located for accessing the downtown attractions of Papeete and Maritime Port, and just two miles from the international airport. Taking over the former Hotel Tahiti, which first opened in 1960 on land that formed part of the Tahitian royal family estate, this resort honours the island’s rich heritage.

Guests can expect to find renovated interiors, including an open-air lobby with ocean views, that are designed to make the most of the surrounding beauty. Onsite amenities span three restaurants; the largest pool in Tahiti, which is joined by six private cabanas; a boutique-style spa; a fitness centre; and the largest ballroom and meeting space in French Polynesia.

Hotel Indigo Cagnes-sur-Mer, France

IHG’s Hotel Indigo brand has landed on the French Riviera with the opening of Hotel Indigo Cagnes-sur-Mer. Inspired by the beautiful coastline and eponymous town, this 87-key property showcases a blue-and-white theme; the interiors contrast light turquoise hues with darker shades of blue, soft furnishings with a nautical feel, decorative rugs with wave patterns, and light fittings that mimic the waves.

Highlights include a rooftop pool with views of Grimaldi Castle and Italian restaurant Cucina Victoria, specialising in locally sourced seafood. Referencing the town’s history as a popular destination for artists such as Renoir, the hotel’s filled with a carefully curated selection of artworks. The architectural and interior design for this charming property were led by Willmotte & Associés.

The Hythe, a Luxury Collection Resort, Vail, Colorado

The Luxury Collection, part of Marriott International, is celebrating the debut of The Hythe, a Luxury Collection Resort, Vail following the US$40 million transformation of an existing property in the Rocky Mountains. This property, owned by DiamondRock Hospitality Company, now benefits from an entirely revamped lobby experience, redesigned outdoor spaces and four new culinary concepts.

The resort comprises 344 keys, including 22 suites and 16 residences, with plenty of wood, stone, leather and faux fur throughout. Wilson Ishihara Design oversaw the interiors, taking inspiration from the origins of Vail and natural beauty of the surrounding area.

Guests can dine at farm-to-table concept Margie’s Haas, unwind in the 10th Mountain lobby bar, make use of the grab-and-go selection at Mountain Ration and sample cocktails in the Revel Lounge bar. Meanwhile, a range of treatments are offered in Well & Being Spa, and events are hosted across 29,000 sq ft of indoor and outdoor space.
