RBH Hospitality Management has been appointed to operate one of Scotland’s landmark hotel properties, the Cameron House Resort overlooking Loch Lomond.
The 208 room historic hotel was acquired earlier in 2026 by Victory Group, having been put up for sale by longtime owners KSL Capital Partners. In addition to luxury accommodation, the property features a variety of food and beverage offerings, and for those keen on playing golf, the choice of two golf courses. There is also a spa, marina and a rooftop swimming pool.
A Chequered History
The historic building became famous in December 2017 for all the wrong reasons. The property experienced a major fire, which killed two guests and severely damaged parts of the listed building.
The damage to the property meant it was time for major reconstruction work. In the following years that work has taken place, and included expansion and upgrading of the property. Over four years, restoration work was just part of the plan, with a new events wing, additional bedrooms added, and the creation of a destination now capable of accommodating weddings, events and major corporate functions.
For hotel management specialist RBH, the signing is its sixth of 2026, as the group grows its portfolio. Alongside distinctive individual hotels and resorts, the company also manages many branded urban hotels around the country.
“2026 has been a momentous year for RBH as we continue to grow and work towards being the partner of choice to hospitality investors,” said group CEO David Hart. “Bringing an iconic hotel of this calibre into our portfolio reflects the journey we are on as a business and showcases our expertise in the luxury space.”
Among those additional properties was the group’s first Hyatt branded hotel. Earlier this year, property owner Sun Venture selected RBH to manage its Hyatt Place London City East, following a careful selection process. The 276 room hotel is the twelfth property that RBH manages in the UK capital. Its addition means RBH now operates hotels across brands from eight major international hotel groups, including IHG, Marriott and Best Western.
Cameron House sits within a Scottish luxury hotel market that will see a number of new arrivals over the coming months. The theme for many properties is one of upgrading and improving existing facilities, with extensions adding more accommodation.
Refits Are a Regional Theme
In St Andrews, The Kithmore hotel has just relaunched following an extensive refurbishment, and an extension taking its room count to 44. Also recently expanded is the Radisson Blu Hotel Glasgow, with a refit growing its capacity to 247 rooms.
In Edinburgh, investor Jebel Ali International Hotels is launching itself into the market, with a luxury hotel in the works. The JA Bruntsfield Hotel is being repositioned as a luxury property, with its 74 rooms undergoing a refit ahead of a relaunch in early 2027.
On the island of Islay, to the west of Scotland, Islay House is also due an upgrade. The 150 room property is another one scheduled to come back to the market, invigorated, in early 2027.
