Global hospitality giant Radisson Hotel Group is growing its footprint in the Chinese capital after striking a deal to open a newbuild property at Beijing Daxing International Airport.

Slated for a Q1 2022 opening, Radisson Hotel Beijing Daxing Airport will place guests within the Airport Economic Zone of what’s expected to become one of the world’s busiest airports.

Ready in time for the 2022 Winter Olympics

This upscale hotel will form part of a major mixed-use development – spanning hotels, premium office space and shops – that’s set to receive LEED Platinum certification upon completion. The contemporary property hopes to host athletes and attendees during the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.

“We are delighted to announce this agreement for Radisson Hotel Beijing Daxing Airport, which will become an integral part of this outstanding new aerotropolis,” said Katerina Giannouka, president in Asia Pacific for Radisson Hotel Group. “The development of Daxing International Airport reflects China’s global outlook and confidence in the future.

“To become the first full-service international hotel in the airport zone demonstrates the strength of the Radisson brand. This important hotel will be a great addition to our portfolio in China, further strengthening our reputation among partners and guests.”

“It gives us great pleasure to partner with Radisson Hotel Group on this project,” added Hui Wu, executive director and legal representative for Kaiyuan Shenggang Hotel Management (Beijing) Co. “Radisson is one of the most renowned and respected brands in the hotel industry, and its status will help to attract domestic and international travellers alike, while also ensuring the highest standards of hospitality.”

Designed for business and leisure

The newly constructed hotel will comprise 239 guestrooms and suites that integrate modern amenities into contemporary interiors, complete with thoughtful details like Radisson’s signature sleep experience. Facilities here are to include an indoor pool, yoga room and gym, along with retail outlets, an all-day dining venue, a Chinese restaurant and a lobby lounge.

Placing a significant focus on its MICE offering, the hotel will also encompass six function spaces including four meeting rooms, a boardroom, and a 300-capacity ballroom – plus a business centre and VIP reception area.

The Zaha Hadid Architects-designed Beijing Daxing International Airport opened in September 2019 and already serves all major Chinese airlines and multiple international carriers.
